Archaeological monitoring of groundworks associated with the Mount Juliet Wastewater Pumping Station Relocation Project, at Mount Juliet Estate and Ballylinch Stud, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny, was carried out between 24 October 2023 and 8 January 2024.

Monitored works comprised the excavation of a haul road and multiple pipe trenches relating to the Mount Juliet Wastewater Pumping Station Relocation Project.

The stratigraphy of the excavated materials was relatively consistent across the site, with topsoil directly overlying natural subsoil, with some areas of modern made ground in the golf course areas of the site.

No archaeological finds, features or deposits were identified in any of the excavated areas.
