Icon Archaeology Ltd was commissioned to complete archaeological monitoring for a large scale residential development located in Ballymany, Newbridge, County Kildare. The development and associated ancillary works were located close to a possible mound site (KD023-019) which was subject to a test excavation by the author in 2024 (licence No. 24E0035). The remains of at least three burials aligned east-west were uncovered during initial testing with further testing of the mound halted. The mound site was subsequently excluded from the development plan with a buffer zone added. The program of archaeological monitoring found no features or finds of archaeological significance.
