Archaeological monitoring of groundworks was carried out for a residential development and associated services and car parking located in Clongowes Wood College, Castlebrown or Clongowes townland, near Clane, Co. Kildare.
The development site lies partially within the Zone of Notification for The Pale Ditch linear earthwork (KD014-0080002-). Monitoring follows a previous programme of archaeological testing (see DIER 2022:400; John Channing; Licence ref. 22E0371).
No archaeological objects or features of archaeological significance were found during archaeological monitoring. No further archaeological mitigation is recommended for this development.
