Geo-physical survey took place on 15 and 16 March 2024, archaeological assessment on 21 March 2024 and the archaeological test excavation took place on 23 and 24 April 2024. The geo-physical survey identified sub-surface anomalies of archaeological potential. The archaeological impact assessment established an historical agricultural landscape, with neither recorded archaeology nor surface indications of archaeology. The test trenches were designed to ensure cross-site coverage including assessing the locations identified as retaining archaeological potential from the geophysical survey.
The site has been comprehensively assessed by archaeological impact assessment, geo-physical survey and archaeological test excavation. All site investigation work has determined no archaeological findings, which is supported by historical documentary and cartographic research.
