Monitoring was carried out of groundworks associated with the construction of a transformer cabin/kiosk and cabling trenches connecting it with photovoltaic panels at Banshagh, Clooncarrig, Killorglin, Co. Kerry.

The footprint of the transformer cabin/kiosk, measuring 3.5m by 7.7m, was reduced to a depth of 1.5–1.8m. Removed spoils were disturbed. Foundations of a switch room of a wastewater treatment plant were exposed. The switch room/plant was built in 1970/1980s, operated until 1990, and was demolished thereafter. Natural consisting of orange-yellow clay sand was exposed at a depth of c. 1.2m.

Test trenches were excavated along the eastern boundary of the site, measuring 1m in width and between 0.6–0.8m in depth. Natural was not exposed. Removed spoils were disturbed, and contained modern rubbish, including plastic bottles.

No archaeological features or finds were encountered.
