Archaeological testing of the site of the permitted 38kV substation at Tullamore, Listowel, County Kerry was undertaken in order to comply with Condition 3 of Kerry County Council’s (KCC) grant of consent for the development.   The testing programme was carried out on 2nd May 2024.

The basal remnants of a charcoal production pit were previously revealed and excavated within the subject field under Licence 22E0375 as part of the wider solar farm development.

Two 25m long test trenches were excavated across the footprint of the new substation location during the testing programme; nothing of an archaeological nature was revealed.
