Archaeological monitoring was carried out ahead of construction of a proposed domestic dwelling, garage, access drive and percolation area; much of the field comes within the archaeological constraint zone for a well-defined rath (GA060-017—-) at least 32m to the north in the neighboring field. All work was carried out by a 1.5m-wide grading bucket and nothing archaeological was detected from the topsoil or the subsoil and where the excavation was deeper; boulder clay consisted of natural orange daub.
