The archaeological watching brief was undertaken on 22 April 2024 at ST Patrick’s GFC, Donagh, County Fermanagh.
The excavation of the foundation trench of the new wall was monitored. The foundation trench was fully excavated to the bedrock, and a small amount of disarticulated human skeletal material was uncovered during the excavation. This material originated from the adjacent medieval church and cemetery (FER246:033). Following examination by an osteoarchaeologist the remains were reinterred within the grounds of the cemetery.
