No features of archaeological significance were identified during the course of archaeological test trenching (or during earlier geophysical survey or monitoring of site investigations). In addition, no remains that could be directly associated with the site of a castle (RMP DU018-017) were identified.

A section of demesne wall (CH01) was subject to a detailed assessment and survey. The structure was removed due to the modern construction, and it was not possible to retain the wall. The historic masonry from the wall will be retained and re-used in landscaping boundaries as part of the permitted development. Heritage plaques will be erected at these locations, the content of which will be agreed in advance with the Dublin City Archaeologist.

CH02 (ruined outbuilding) will not be demolished, as initially proposed. It will be retained as part of the development and subject to conservation repair. The future reuse of the structure will be developed by the Project Conservation Architect and agreed with the Local Authority. Whilst the structure is assessed as having a low heritage sensitivity, the retention of the structure represents a direct positive and permanent impact (of high magnitude) which will result in a moderate significance of effect.
