Archaeological monitoring was undertaken between 20 February and 20 March of 2024, in response to a planning condition for a residential development. Monitoring revealed extensive modern disturbance within the topsoil and partially within the natural subsoil across the area of development. The stratigraphy observed across the site consisted of a dark brown clayey silt topsoil, measuring c. 0.5m to 1m in depth, and including extensive modern debris. This lay over a mixed yellow/grey sandy gravel subsoil with modern building material inclusions. Nothing of archaeological potential was identified during the course of monitoring.
