Archaeological trenching took place at Spawell Cluster Facility, Templeogue and Tymon North, Templeogue, Dublin 6 over three days at the end of June 2024. Topsoil was uniform across most of the site being a soft mid- to dark-brown clayey sand with occasional pebble inclusions. No archaeological features were identified during the course of the assessment. A single large pit was identified but, on investigation, was found to contain modern debris. Extensive agricultural activity in the form of furrows and field drains were also identified throughout the assessment area with a particular concentration in Area 1.
