A c. 8ha development site in Kinsealy comprised of the abandoned facilities of a Teagasc Research Centre including dilapidated greenhouses, warehouses, and various planted and overgrown areas. Archaeological monitoring of geotechnical site investigations was undertaken followed by the excavation of fourteen test trenches located in grassy spaces throughout the site. Test trenches were excavated by a mechanical excavator under constant archaeological supervision. No features, finds or deposits of archaeological significance were identified during the course of the archaeological works. Large parts of the site have been disturbed by earlier works including deposits of introduced soils, thought likely to have occurred during the construction and use of the Research Centre.
