A programme of periodic archaeological monitoring was completed in September and October 2024 during conservation works at Kilbarron Church, Co. Donegal. No groundwork was carried out nor was there any removal, reuse of or disturbance to stone rubble at or surrounding the church. These works constituted the third and final phase of consolidation works and focused primarily on limited repointing at the north wall interior and exterior, limited repointing at the south wall exterior and completion of capping at the north wall of the church. South wall pointing works were completed to conclude the conservation and consolidation works at this wall that were initiated during Phase 2 in 2023. Metalwork and carpentry upgrades to the modern access point to the church and field were also completed.

There were no previously unknown finds, features or stonework of archaeological significance identified during these works.
