Archaeological Monitoring took place in November 2024 of excavation works in the vicinity of a medieval church and graveyard located on the R584 road southwest of Kealkill village, Co. Cork. The works formed part of a watermains upgrade project being carried out by contractors working on behalf of Uisce Éireann. Eight rectangular pits were excavated in the road to a depth of around 1.3m, each of which showed evidence for stone and gravel having been imported into the area over time to build up the road to its present level.
No archaeology was found.
