Archaeological monitoring was undertaken of a domestic sewer installation and upgrade project in Upper Aghada, Co. Cork. The works entailed the upgrade of the existing sewer, with an additional length of sewer to facilitate connection of a new residential housing build to the existing wastewater services in the village.
A portion of the eastern half of the works lay within the Zone of Notification for Recorded Monuments CO088-035001- (Graveyard), CO088-035002- (Church) and CO088-122—- (Metalworking site), and therefore archaeological monitoring was required.
Bedrock was noted immediately beneath the road surfaces along the entirety of the route of the works, and therefore no archaeology was found.
