Twenty-six trenches were excavated across the site as part of a pre-development assessment. Two isolated possible post-holes were identified in two trenches at the western end of the site and a possible third was found, also at the west, near the recorded location of a standing stone. In an area of uprooted limestone bedrock at the northeast of the site a shallow linear feature was identified. This may be of archaeological interest but is more likely to relate to the uprooting of the bedrock. Further archaeological works will be undertaken if development proceeds.
