2024:653 - 31 Stephen Street/Saint Kevin Square, Cork, Cork

Archaeological monitoring was carried out during the re-development of the site. Ground was reduced on the Stephen Street end of the site by 0.7m exposing clean subsoil below mixed garden soil containing modern ceramics and rubbish. Ground was reduced at the Saint Kevin Square end of the site by 1.7m exposing clean subsoil at the center of the site below mixed garden soil containing modern ceramic and rubbish. At both the northern and southern end of the site extensive disturbance was caused by the underpinning of the boundary walls in recent decades. No features or finds of archaeological significance were identified.
