Sample excavation was undertaken in late August 2024 at a coastal promontory fort (CO105-018) at Ardaturrish More near Glengarriff, Co. Cork. The aim was to record archaeological deposits threatened by severe coastal erosion at the site. It was hoped to recover cultural material and dating information connected to the history of this site. This was not successful, with the only significant find being part of a stone revetment on the inner side of the eroded bank.Sample excavation was undertaken in late August 2024 at a coastal promontory fort (CO105-018) at Ardaturrish More near Glengarriff, Co.
