2024:351 - Ballythomas, Dunderrow, Kinsale, Cork

Archaeological monitoring was recommended as a condition of planning to monitor the initial phase of groundworks prior to the construction of an extension to a laboratory building at a pharmaceutical plant near Dunderrow, Co. Cork. The building is within the proximity of a recorded archaeological monument, a souterrain, which was discovered during construction at the original plant in 1980. A full archaeological presence was maintained at the site for a period of four days in November 2024 and no features or finds of archaeological significance were exposed during the course of this work.
