Archaeological monitoring was carried out in fulfilment of a condition attached to a grant of planning for a telecommunications monopole installation in the townland of Park, approximately 500m northeast of the centre of the village of Knocknagree, Co. Cork. The site of a standing stone (x2) (RMP CO029-029) is located within the same field but the two stones were removed in the late 1970s.
The permitted development required the topsoil stripping of a compound area measuring 10m x 10m and a parking & turning access area measuring 8m x 6m. Monitoring took place on 9 October 2024. No features or finds of archaeological interest were identified and no further archaeological work is required in relation to the permitted development.
