An archaeological impact assessment including test-trenching was undertaken as part of a further information request by Cork County Council for a proposed new residential development.
The proposed development site is contained within a single rectangular field at the south-eastern end of Little Island with extensive views of Lough Mahon. Eleven test-trenches were mechanically excavated within the proposed development area. No archaeological features or deposits were uncovered.
