An archaeological assessment including a programme of archaeological test-trenching was undertaken as part of a further information request by Cork County Council. The proposed development, consisting of a new private dwelling, is situated within a plot of land to the north of a recorded monument: an enclosure (CO062-035) with no surface expression which is only indicated on the third edition of the OS Six-inch scale map c.1937.
Nine test trenches were mechanically excavated within the proposed development area. No archaeological features or deposits were uncovered.
