Seven linear test trenches with a combined length of c.300m were excavated across the proposed development site. Natural subsoil was identified at a depth of between 0.2m and 0.5m below modern surface level. The area was generally heavily disturbed and while evidence of agricultural activity was revealed in some of the excavated trenches, nothing of archaeological significance was encountered during the testing programme.
