Archaeological monitoring was recommended as a condition of planning for upgrade works to the existing Whitegate (Kilva) Water Treatment Plant. A full archaeological presence was maintained during the removal of topsoil to the east, west and south of the existing facility and no archaeological finds or strata were identified during this initial phase of ground works.
