Archaeological monitoring was carried out ahead of the construction of 23 houses in Rathcormack, County Cork in 2024. The site was already disturbed, having been at the centre of an incomplete residential development in c.2006.
The monitored groundworks in 2024 consisted of the reduction of topsoil down to the upper levels of the underlying natural subsoil at an area centered on the footprint of each of the houses to be constructed. Nothing of archaeological significance was revealed during the topsoil stripping works.
