Eleven linear test trenches with a combined length of 325m were excavated across a proposed development site. Natural subsoil was identified at a depth of between 0.35m and 0.6m below modern surface level. The majority of the test trenches targeted anomalies that had been identified from a geophysical survey of the site, though none of these anomalies were found to reflect archaeological activity. While evidence of agricultural activity was revealed in many of the excavated trenches, nothing of archaeological significance was encountered during the testing programme.
