Monitoring was undertaken during groundworks relating to an extension to an existing housing estate in the townland of Madara, Quin, Co Clare. The site is located to the immediate west of an existing housing estate with green pasture field to the north, west and south. The centre of the village of Quin lies approximately 500m to the east.

Monitoring did not reveal any archaeological features, deposits or artefacts. The site was found to be extensively disturbed in the past by quarrying and construction works nearby. A metal detector was used for licensed survey (24R0225) to enhance potential artefact recovery; nothing beyond modern ferrous material was identified. In summary, the proposal area was deemed to be archaeologically sterile.
