Archaeological monitoring was undertaken on part of a water pipe-laying scheme extending eastwards from the outskirts of Carlow town, passing through the townlands of Kernanstown, Ballynakillbeg, Johnstown, Ardnehue, Friarstown, Killerrig, Grangewat, Straboe, Downings and Kilmagarvoge.
Monitoring was undertaken of open-trench excavation within and adjacent to the Zone of Notification of CW008-001 (church) in Ardnehue townland. Nothing of archaeological was identified.
