Archaeological test excavation of redevelopment of a rural single residential site to extend the existing farmhouse into larger dwelling took place on 4 August2023 .
In all, four test trenches were mechanically excavated within the footprint of the proposed work. It was found that the extensively disturbed ground from previous farmyard activities had removed much of the original soils and c. 0.1m of topsoil resided over the underlying subsoil and bedrock. No archaeology was encountered.
