Archaeological monitoring took place in relation to redevelopment of the site as upgrade works and an extension to the existing residential unit and landscaping of its curtilage were planned.
The monitoring took place on 6 February 2023. Much of the ground had been disturbed by a previous unrelated development, in which the ground had been scraped into the south-facing slope at the rear of the site. This meant that original soils remained at the southern aspect of the development site.
In the event, archaeological monitoring revealed natural subsoils upon which there were no archaeological impacts.
