Archaeological testing was carried out at a greenfield site in Deerpark, Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary, located approximately 1.4 km north-west of Carrick-on-Suir town. The testing was undertaken in advance of a planning decision for a proposed solar farm. Twelve evenly spaced test trenches were excavated across the site.

Three areas of archaeological interest were identified: two isolated pits and a cluster of features that may represent the remains of a structure. The cluster comprised a pit (F06), four post-holes (F07, F08, F10 and F11), and a stake-hole (F09), which may represent a small, rounded post-built house or structure.

No artefacts were recovered to assist in dating the features, which could relate to either prehistoric or historic activity. It was recommended that the three areas of archaeological interest be preserved by record in advance of development.
