Archaeological monitoring of four new stay trenches and two associated earth trenches was undertaken at Ballyvaughan, Portroe, County Tipperary on 1 February 2023. The works were undertaken adjacent to existing poles and were carried out in order to facilitate the upgrading of a short section of existing overhead power line to accommodate an increase in electricity supply from single to three phase within the Ballyvaughan townland. The works were undertaken within the Zone of Notification for two archaeological sites, ringforts TN013-008--- & TN013-007---. Nothing of an archaeological nature was encountered in any of the trenches excavated under archaeological supervision.
