The area under archaeological assessment is located at Kilboglashy, Ballisodare, Co. Sligo and the development entails the construction of a housing development. The site is 0.82 hectares in total and is within the Zone of Archaeological Notification for RMP SL020-257---- Earthwork. Testing took place on 3 and 6 January 2023. The work was carried out by a mechanical excavator under archaeological supervision. 12 linear test trenches were excavated across the entire development site. Each test trench was excavated through the overlying topsoil material to the natural substrate underlying the testing area. No archaeological deposits, features or objects were encountered during testing.
