Archaeological testing was undertaken in advance of site investigation (S.I.) works at the proposed Kilcush Solar Farm, Co. Offaly over the course of 7 days in August-September 2023.
Of the proposed 55 S.I. locations, 52 were archaeologically tested. The remaining 3 were located within the construction site for a substation associated with Cushaling Wind Farm, which had been subject to previous archaeological testing.
Testing identified two linear features - a modern field drain in TT49 and a likely modern agricultural feature in TT15. No archaeological material was identified.
