A programme of archaeological monitoring was carried out for groundworks associated with the construction of Moanvane Windfarm in the townlands of Ballychristal, Ballykean, Bogtown, Enaghan, Kilcappagh, Kilcooney & Moanvane, Co. Offaly. The development site was located c.2.5km northwest of Portarlington town.
No archaeological sites afforded statutory protection by means of being listed on the Record of Monuments and Places/Sites and Monuments Register (RMP/SMR) were located within the boundaries of the proposed development site.
Archaeological monitoring of all relevant groundworks was carried out over the course of the project. No archaeological features, deposits or finds were uncovered during the course of this work.
