The programme of archaeological testing comprised the excavation of twelve trenches with a total
length of 126.41 linear metres. During the course of the test trenching programme a number of phases of occupation were encountered. An agricultural furrow (C011), a post-hole (C012) and a pit (C013) containing post-medieval pottery dating to the early 18th century (C. McCutcheon pers. comm.) represents the earliest phase of occupation at the site (Phase I). Architectural elements in the form of sub-surface masonry were also encountered and it is believed that these formed part of the second phase (Phase II) of activity and is 19th century in date, while concrete foundation beams and concrete floor slabs belonging to the early 20th-century building (Phase III) complete the findings at the site.
