Archaeological test trenching was carried out on a site at Ballygarth Road, Julianstown, Co. Meath. A total of 4 trenches were excavated across the footprint of the proposed development. The test trenches were excavated down to a natural subsoil that ranged from a light yellowish-brown clayey sand to a mottled yellowish orange clayey sand. Agricultural furrows were noted running north to south in all four trenches and a stone drain, C3, was recorded at the northern end of Trench 2.
No archaeological features, structures or deposits were identified in the four trenches and no archaeological finds were found within the upcast spoil.
The assessment is complete and no further work is recommended.
