Archaeological testing was carried out at this site in January 2023 and involved the excavation of nineteen test trenches, in advance of the construction of a housing estate. Each trench measured 1.8m in width, and in total, 911m of linear trenches were excavated. The test trenches were excavated to subsoil level, and this varied from brown marly clay with small stones to orange-brown boulder clay and grey subsoil. In general, topsoil measured 0.3-0.6m in depth. No archaeological features were exposed, and no finds were recovered.
