Archaeological testing was undertaken at a site in Doogort, Achill Island, Co Mayo. As outlined in the method statement, 3 long test trenches were excavated north-south along the foundations of the planned houses and associated ancillary works, a strategy agreed upon with the Senior Archaeologist from Mayo County Council. Topsoil varied from 0.32–0.9m deep. The natural was a grey compacted stony subsoil. Nothing of archaeological significance was found.
