The licence holder was engaged by the local planning authority (part 8 requirement) to carry out archaeological testing for the extension to Ballycroy Burial Ground in Co .Mayo. Six test trenches were excavated through the overlying bog onto the natural subsoil level. Topsoil varied from 0.32–0.9m deep. The natural was a grey compacted stony subsoil. Nothing of archaeological significance was found. Nothing of archaeological interest was uncovered during the test trenching exercise.
