Archaeological monitoring of the site was carried out intermittently at Raheen Business Park from July to October 2023.

Monitoring followed on from a programme of test trenching, which was carried out in 2023. The assessment included the excavation of five test trenches within the development area; however, no archaeological features or deposits were uncovered.

The present site investigation works included five trial pits, two soak pits and five boreholes, as well as topsoil stripping across the site.

The depth of the topsoil varied between 0.25-0.35m; this was found to lay underneath 0.2m of disturbed backfill. The subsoil comprised a mid-yellow clay with some areas of waterlogged marl clay.

Nothing of archaeological significance was found during monitoring.
