Archaeological monitoring of replacement of the existing 150mm uPVC rising main and all the associated assets with a new HDPE main, Tobergal to Mountplummer (6636m), took place on 21 June and 4 September 2023. This work was based upon a preceding cultural heritage assessment that identified Lisnafulla Bridge (National Inventory of Architectural Heritage number 21904417) and Ahawilk Enclosure (RMP LI044-086) as being along the route.
The method of water duct laying was pit excavation (2m by 1m and 1.2m in depth), set every 150m to 200m apart, from which horizontal directional occurred. In the event, no works took place within the zones of notification of the above sites.
