A single linear test trench measuring 90m was excavated along the southern boundary of a proposed development site. This was supplementary to fourteen linear test trenches that had previously been excavated under that same licence (23E0016). This additional test trench was partially within the zone of
notification associated with a recorded monument – Children’s Burial Ground (LI005-007---). In this test trench, natural subsoil was identified at a depth of 0.05m to 1.1m. No artefacts, features or deposits of archaeological significance were revealed within the excavated test trenches, as had been the case in the
earlier fourteen test trenches.
