Thirty-two linear test trenches with a combined length of 1330 metres were excavated. Natural subsoil was identified at a depth of 0.15-0.6m. This was a heavily disturbed landscape, having formerly been in use as a pitch and putt course. Features that may be of archaeological significance were revealed within two of the excavated test trenches; Trenches 14 and 18.
Trench 14: an oval-shaped pit was found, it measured 1.5m east to west by 1.25m and contained a dark fill which included charcoal and shattered stones.
Trench 18: three possible post-holes and one stake-hole were found in close proximity. These two areas of interest are c.60m apart, towards the north-centre of the area.
