Fourteen linear test trenches with a combined length of 518 metres were excavated. Natural subsoil and bedrock were identified at a depth of 0.1m to 1.3m. No artefacts, features or deposits of archaeological significance were revealed within the excavated test trenches. Areas of considerable disturbance were encountered, consistent with an area labelled ‘quarry’ on historic Ordnance Survey maps.
