A programme of archaeological testing was undertaken as part of seeking planning permission to build a dwelling house and undertake associated site works at Tullamaine, Callan. Due to the location of a church (KK022-027001), graveyard (KK022-027002) and settlement cluster (KK022-027005), a programme of pre-construction testing was implemented as part of an archaeological assessment. The monuments are located c. 400m to the northwest of the development site, on the opposite side of the public road.
A total of five test trenches were sited on the imprint of the proposed works. No archaeological remains and/or features were exposed in the trenches.
