Archaeological test excavation and metal detection under licence no. 23E0547 and 23R0302, supported by a desktop survey, were carried out at Glandore, Woodstock Road, Athy, Co Kildare. The development site comprises c. 0.12ha of grounds to the side and rear of Glandore House and is in proximity to known medieval archaeological sites, principally Woodstock Castle (RMP KD035-021) and associated deserted settlement (RMP KD035-021004).
Three evenly spaced test trenches were excavated across the site, and the spoil removed was metal detected. No material finds, deposits or features of archaeological significance were observed through this work.
