The site at Magee Barracks, Kildare, Co. Kildare, was archaeologically assessed by test trenching. The assessment involved the excavation of ten test trenches, each measuring 1.8m in width with a total of 1390m of linear trenches excavated. The test trenches were excavated to the natural subsoil, which consisted of bands and pockets of light yellow-brown sand and a mid-orangey-brown sandy silt with occasional black coloured mudstone and gravel. Infrequent pockets of gravel. No archaeological features or deposits were identified within the excavated trenches. Consequently, no further archaeological work is recommended at this site.
