Licensed monitoring of conservation works were carried out on the south-west flanking tower of Castleisland Castle under the Community Monuments Fund (CMF23-1-KE001). The removal of up to 1.3m of debris from the interior of the ground floor, vaulted chamber and all overgrowth and soil from the roof of the vault and the wall tops was monitored as were ongoing conservation works (raking out of joints, minor repair and rebuilding, repointing and flaunching). No previously unrecorded archaeological features, strata or artefacts were encountered during the course of the monitoring of these works.
