The archaeological pre-development test excavations recorded no artefacts and/or features of archaeological significance. A total of 5 trenches were excavated. The general stratigraphy consisted of peat depths of up to 2m in Trenches A-C, in the north of the site, and 0.4m in Trench D in the south of the site. Excavation in Trench E, in the south of the site, revealed sand.
